After your extensions have been installed, a healthy hair care regimen should be followed to protect the life of the extensions using good-quality haircare products.
Our extensions can be chemically altered and styled. However, we strongly suggest that all chemical services and installation be performed by a licensed hair care professional to prevent any unnecessary damage or distress to the curl pattern and/or texture of the hair.
We recommend sleeping with a silk or sating scarf, bonnet, or pillowcase and when not in use, storing your extensions in a silk or satin bag or bonnet.
To keep your curly extensions looking fresh, defined, and full of life, follow these essential care tips:
1. Detangle Regularly
Gently detangle your extensions every 2–3 days using your fingers or a wide-tooth comb. Always start from the ends and work your way up to avoid breakage. For best results, detangle while the hair is damp and coated with a leave-in conditioner or detangling spray.2. Wash Weekly
You may wash your curly extensions once a week or as needed. Use a sulfate-free, moisturizing shampoo followed by a hydrating conditioner. Gently scrunch the curls while rinsing to maintain the curl pattern.3. Define & Set Your Curls
Apply curl creams, mousse, or gel to enhance and define your curls. Avoid heavy or oily products that can weigh the hair down. Refresh curls between washes with a water-based curl refresher spray.4. Style with Care
For a soft, wavy “braid-out” look, braid the hair into plaits while damp, then unravel once fully dry. You can also pineapple the hair at night (gather it into a loose high ponytail) or sleep with a satin bonnet or pillowcase to reduce frizz and maintain moisture.5. Moisturize Often
Curly hair thrives with moisture. Use lightweight leave-in conditioners, hydrating sprays, or water-based curl milks to keep the curls bouncy and soft.6. Avoid Heat Styling
Limit the use of heat tools to preserve the curl pattern and longevity of the extensions. If you must use heat, always apply a heat protectant.7. Store Properly
When not in use, store your extensions in a satin bag or on a mannequin head to maintain their shape and prevent tangling.
